AUSTIN, Texas - March 11, 2007 - Pat Strong, REALTOR® with Pat Strong Realty in San Antonio, was awarded the Texas Association of REALTORS® 2006 Educator of the Year. The winner was announced Tuesday at the state association's Winter Meeting awards ceremony in Austin. Strong was honored for her significant contributions, and outstanding service and leadership, in the real estate industry.
"Pat Strong has exhibited exemplary work in the area of real estate education." said Avis Wukasch, chairman for the Texas Association of REALTORS®. "She has dedicated the last 27 years of her life to promoting the professional development and career advancement of fellow real estate practitioners."
The award for Educator of the Year is decided by a special statewide task force selected by the Education Management Team and chaired by the Faculty Criteria and Development chairman. The honor recognizes the year's best real estate educator in Texas based on expertise in curriculum and course development, association involvement, authorship, teaching skills and broader impact on the real estate industry, community and the REALTOR® family.
Pat Strong has been a Texas REALTOR® for 27 years. She is a senior faculty instructor for Texas REALTORS® University and has willingly devoted her time and energy supporting the association and the professional development of its members and instructors. She holds Graduate REALTOR® Institute, Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer's Representative, e-PRO, Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager designations and more. She also teaches GRI classes to real estate agents throughout the state. Strong has served on various committees and task forces at the local and state levels, including Professional Standards, Faculty Criteria and Development, GRI Chapter and Education, serving the last several years on the Education Management Team.
